**EDIT: Full title: "Cross Cultural Purity References"
Refers to the Geisha, pale skin, and blue eyes in contrast to the red & the gun. Second piece of AP art concentration: vengeful Geisha of the 1800s in early Meiji Restoration Japan. I loved doing this. I had the stock pose out no more than 15 minutes while doing the entire picture. Oh, & the guns are flintlock pistols. Done with Micron ink pens, primarily Prismacolor markers, and some prismacolor pencil retouches. Colored retouched after scan in photoshop & black border added there too. Yep. Picture is mine. What an awesome twist on the gunner theme! I really love the detail in the kimono and they way you set up the perspective. It's almost as if we're trying to run away with the barrel of the gun breathing down our backs.
The white and gold guns with the eyes on them are a particularly cool detail as well. Hmmm as for a tittle, how about Pearl Assassin, Blue-Eyed Revenge, Geisha no Shi, Gun of the Chrysanthemum (at least I think that's what the flower in her hair is). Nice work! I'd totally love to see this as a print. -- LD7's Links Main Account - Writings - Artisan Crafts - Blog Your details are killer, and I love seeing a Geisha not in a peaceful looking state of mind like usual.
